Feel the Beat
At BigDog Support Services, we believe that music, movies and cultural activities are a great way to have fun, express yourself, build confidence and connect with others. Our programs are designed to encourage participation, creativity and social connection, with activities that can be easily modified to suit all levels of ability, interests and support needs.
Participants have the exciting opportunity to get involved with local community radio on FM 102.7, learning about the many aspects of radio production. This can include learning how to be a DJ, selecting and playing favourite music, reading the weather, presenting local news or simply experiencing what happens behind the microphone. Community radio provides a wonderful opportunity to develop communication skills, confidence and teamwork while having fun and contributing to the local community.
Feel the Beat is all about music, movement and having a great time. Participants and staff can enjoy musical jam sessions, sing along to favourite songs, dance, move to the rhythm and simply rock out together. Activities can be adapted to individual abilities, making music an enjoyable and inclusive experience for everyone. Music provides an opportunity for self-expression while encouraging movement, interaction and social connection.
After a busy week of activities, sometimes there is nothing better than settling in with friends for a relaxing Friday Movie Afternoon. Participants can choose from a range of movies, get comfortable and enjoy a social afternoon with friends and staff, along with on-site prepared snacks and beverages.
