Everyone needs to access their Community
At BigDog Support Services, we believe that being part of the community is an important part of living a fulfilling, independent and meaningful life. Our Community Access programs support people living with disability to get out, participate in activities, develop new skills, build relationships and enjoy the many opportunities available within their local community.
The benefits of community access extend well beyond simply getting out of the house. Regular participation can help improve confidence, independence, social skills and self-esteem, while reducing social isolation and creating opportunities to develop friendships and meaningful connections. It can also provide people with the opportunity to try new experiences, discover new interests and achieve personal goals.
BigDog takes a person-centred approach, ensuring that participants have choice and control over the activities they undertake. Our support workers work alongside clients to encourage independence while providing the level of assistance required to participate safely and confidently.
