In Your Home or Ours
At BigDog Support Services, we understand that everyone’s support needs are different. That’s why we offer flexible Short Term Accommodation (STA) and respite options designed around the individual needs, preferences and goals of the people we support.
Our respite services provide an opportunity for participants to enjoy a change of scenery, experience new environments, develop greater independence and participate in activities they enjoy, while also giving families and carers valuable time to rest and recharge.
BigDog can provide in-home respite, support at one of our fully furnished and accessible homes, or respite in other suitable accommodation. For those looking for something a little different, we can even arrange respite experiences at the beach or other destinations, helping participants enjoy a holiday-style experience while continuing to receive the support they need.
Our team works closely with participants, families and carers to understand individual circumstances and create a respite experience that is comfortable, enjoyable and meaningful. We focus on providing quality support while encouraging choice, independence and participation.
Whether you need a few hours of respite, an overnight stay, a weekend away or a longer Short Term Accommodation experience, BigDog Support Services is here to help find a flexible solution that provides great value and the right level of support.

NDIS Updates
We wanted to share some updates to the way NDIS respite (Short-Term Accommodation) is delivered.
Recent NDIS changes have resulted in a new pricing structure, which means respite is now more affordable than ever.
This allows many participants to access more respite throughout the year and gives families greater flexibility when planning stays.
A few other important changes include:
Participants are now responsible for the cost of personal community activities (such as meals, movies and entry fees) during their stay.
Transport to and from community outings is now claimed through participants' NDIS funding where applicable.
We're placing an even greater focus on meaningful, low-cost and free community experiences, along with relaxing in-house activities, ensuring every respite stay remains engaging, enjoyable and person-centred.
